Open Doors for a Cause

Ely-Winton Historical Society

Entrance to the Ely Winton History Museum with a flower pot nearby.

Established in 1961

The Ely Winton Historical Society was formally established in 1961 as a small group at the Ely Community Center. The official museum was built on the Vermilion Community College campus in 1981. The Ely-Winton Historical Society exists to collect, preserve, and display to the public, artifacts and information relating to the history of our amazing area in northern Minnesota. Through their Museum, their extensive archive of documents and photos, and various informative events throughout the year, they hope to share with you the story of Ely.
